Zac continued his roller coaster form this week to shoot a nice 40 points to be this weeks winner of Round Two of the Mike Taylor Golf Bag.
Thanks to a fine golfing oops I meant choking display by our club captain on the weekend, Jarrod Rowland fought off all other challengers to win the Mike Taylor Golf Bag. Jarrod posted a very nice 83 points for the two weeks, 7 points clear of the eventual runner up, Zac Kingston with 76 points. An honourable mention must go to the club captain who finished 3rd on 74 points.
Jarrod however did have a few hiccups on the way to posting his 39 points in the second round. On the fifth tee Jarrod teed off and sent the ball high wide and handsome over the players on the 4th tee before bouncing over the fence and heading south down Rankeys Hill Rd. On reloading, Jarrod had another big hit, but this was straight leaving him a simple iron to the green and one putt. A birdie off his second ball making it with his handicap a pretty reasonable 5 for 3!’Take away his penalty shot and this would have been a 3 for 5. I think the Handicapper needs to meet with Jarrod.
Tony Bryant showed none of the par 3 prowess he displayed the week before. On the 13th all 3 of his playing partners, who I might add were not in the running for the bag, birdied this easy hole but Tony could only manage a par. Actually, I cant remember him getting close to a green let alone the hole. His remaining motivation for the rest of the day was to avoid the prestigious rubber chicken eventually won by Rowey but only just.
Evidently Lindsay Jones has a bit of a competition happening with his mate Tom. Having both posted 32 points Lindsay bluffed Tom into thinking this was a tie, but sorry Lindsay, Tom got you on a countback. Keep up the good work Tom.
Grade winners for this week are Klaus with a 38 points in A Grade, James Daley with the same in B Grade and the soon to be A grader, Jarrod Rowland with 39 points in C Grade.
Nearest to the pins were Ken Ponting on the 7th and Zac ( I never miss ) Kingston on the 13th.
L platers are Steve Belcher for A Grade, Jason White in B Grade and Colin Shaw for C Grade.
